Telecentre Family project
Project year:
2005
This project exposed rural communities to ICT through skill development and the application of ICT to their development work focusing on Digital Inclusion. Telecentres serve as shared spaces in rural areas, enabling communities to interact with digital equipments, often with the help of skilled personnel. Different methods were used to deliver information from telecentres to rural communities, with the most common approach being direct interaction. While this approach is popular among children and young people, efforts were also made to engage rural adults. The project assessed how individuals and communities progressed through the journey of e-empowerment.
